Solution & implementation
We have installed screenings compactors to dewater the screenings much better. This step not only benefits the environment, but also helps to significantly reduce disposal costs. The improved dewatering helps to minimize the amount of waste and therefore contributes to the sustainability of our processes.
To further improve the quality of wastewater treatment, we have integrated upstream and downstream denitrification into the four wastewater treatment plants(ALMA BHU BIO). This step enables the efficient removal of nitrogen compounds from the wastewater.
Another important expansion we have undertaken is the introduction of biological phosphorus elimination in the four wastewater treatment plants. This advanced technology helps to effectively remove phosphorus compounds from wastewater. This is a significant step towards environmental protection and helps to prevent phosphorus discharges into water bodies.
