Task
Construction and commissioning of a flotation system for an ice cream manufacturer in northern Germany. The ice cream manufacturer produces a wide range of ice cream specialties such as ice cream cakes, sandwich ice cream, spaghetti ice cream and stick ice cream, which are marketed under various private labels.
A special feature of the system is the COD-proportional dosing of the precipitants, which helps to optimize the use of operating resources and reduce operating costs.
Design data
Waste water volume:
- Average 16 m³/h
Target parameters:
- COD reduction: 50 %
- BOD5 reduction: 50 %
- Lipophilic substances Reduction: 90 %
Solution & implementation
Our stainless steel ALMA NeoDAF HDED 20.000 was installed to ensure that the desired target parameters were met. This flotation system is equipped with an automatic dosing and preparation station for the flocculant, known as ALMA Floc AD, to ensure precise and efficient treatment.
Advantages of the ALMA NeoDAF HDED:
Sludge removal in countercurrent process:
Both the flotate sludge and the sediment discharge are drawn off in countercurrent to create a targeted gradient along the flotation cell. This ensures efficient removal of the flotate sludge and reduces re-dissolution effects.
Air saturation valves as diaphragm valves:
Pneumatically controlled diaphragm valves are used instead of needle valves, which are often prone to clogging, to ensure trouble-free operation without blockages and with an even air supply.
Aerophilic flake formation:
Dosing precipitants and flocculants in closed pipe sections using an inline system is crucial for an effective flocculation process. This allows air-saturated water to be mixed into the flocculation process and results in sludge flocs with excellent buoyancy properties.
Separation of large air bubbles:
The patented ALMA Bubble Booster System removes large air bubbles before treatment to ensure a uniform flotate sludge carpet and prevent unwanted settling.
