Task
The Sternquell brewery, a traditional brewery that has been brewing delicious beers in the picturesque Vogtland region since the late 19th century, is a real treasure in the brewing industry. Today, Sternquell Pilsner is one of the most popular Pilsner beers in the Vogtland region.
In line with its commitment to environmental protection and compliance with legal regulations, the Sternquell brewery has invested in innovative wastewater treatment technologies. These technologies enable the Sternquell brewery to treat its wastewater so that it reaches a pH-neutral state before being discharged into the public sewer system. This not only helps to protect the environment, but also ensures compliance with all applicable regulations.

Solution & implementation
Our advanced solution for the treatment of brewery wastewater comprises three key process steps.
1. separation of coarse solids in the pump shaft: At the beginning, the brewery wastewater enters a pump shaft equipped with an integrated coarse solids trap. This step enables the efficient separation of coarse solids before the wastewater is processed further.
2. mixing and pre-acidification in the equalization tank: In the second process step, the wastewater is pumped into a mixing and equalization tank. Here, the wastewater is homogenized and the slightly alkaline wastewater is pre-acidified in order to create optimum conditions for the subsequent processes.
3. ALMA NEUTRA for dischargeability and compliance: In our ALMA module, the brewery wastewater is neutralized in the ALMA Neutra and brought to the required discharge values. A final check with automatic recording of the pH values enables us to provide the authorities with clear proof that the brewery wastewater has been discharged correctly.
